Douglas Dorando, Attorney
Douglas S. Dorando joined the firm in 2017 as an attorney practicing in the areas of municipal law and political and election law, and representing numerous public entities in both Illinois and Iowa.
Mr. Dorando regularly handles representation of all aspects of municipal entities operations including litigation, land use and zoning, public contracts, civil rights, open meetings, public records, ordinance and traffic prosecutions, and the exercise of home rule powers. He has also practiced before local and state administrative agencies including in relationship to utilities and elections. Mr. Dorando has significant experience with drafting professional and clear legislation, ordinances, and resolutions.
Prior to joining Daniels, Long & Pinsel, Mr. Dorando represented a mid-sized city as in-house counsel. Additionally, he served the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions in the office of Oversight and Investigation to include handling Senate investigations, such as a detailed investigation into the practices of the for-profit education industry in higher education. Mr. Dorando has also worked as a staffer in the US House of Representatives, and has significant experience with elections, election laws including state and FEC finance compliance, and the political process.
